The Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund 3-year-old preliminaries got underway with Tom's Toy, AJ's Lilgamblngal and Little Bit Tricky winning the three $20,000 first leg filly paces on Sunday at Dover Downs.

Tom's Toy, a Powerful Toy-Glowing Hans bay, the Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund 2-year-old winner of the $100,000 final last year, breezed to a 1:55 victory in the first $20,000 division. Corey Callahan drove the Tom Cooke-owned winner for trainer Roger Hans to her fifth win in 10 career races. Karen's Destiny (George Dennis) closed strongly to finish second and Go Jackie Jo (Vince Copeland) finished third.

In the second division, Brandon Givens driving AJ's Gamblngal made a winning move at the three-quarters, dashing past the leader Everymileamemory (Kevin Sizer) and quickly opened a four-length lead on the way to a 1:55.2 triumph for Charles and Diane Coursey and trainer Wayne Givens. Wish You were Me (Bob Kinsey Jr.) hustled down the lane to finish second. The win was the second in three starts this year for the Gamblers Dream-AJ's Kathy filly.

Eric Goodell left quickly with Little Bit Tricky from post eight to find room second behind the race favorite, Rusty's Joy (Eddie Davis Jr.), who led until the final steps, when Little Bit Tricky finally caught the leader after a stretch-long duel to the wire, in 1:55.3. CJ Crystal (Roger Plante Jr.) picked up third money. Jim and Bill Outten and Green Racing own the Badlands Hanover-Bit Of Trick sophomore.

The second prelim leg is set for next Sunday. The top eight finishers after the two weeks of preliminaries will race in the $100,000 Delaware Standardbred Breeders final on Monday, Aug. 6. (Dover Downs)
