Six $20,000 divisions of the first leg for pacers in the Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund (DSBF) stakes for 2-year-old pacers were held Monday at Harrington Raceway. Badlands Racing, George Teague, Elmer Fannin and Henry Dorfman’s Delmarvalous ($2.10, Corey Callahan) was the fastest winner after a 1:55.1 performance. The Teague trainee has now won four of seven lifetime after pacing by pacesetter Amazing Quest in deep stretch for the win.
It was one of three wins in DSBF action on the night for Teague, who also trained and co-owns fillies Model Legs ($2.10, Callahan, 1:55.1) and VIP Stable and Dennis Polimeni’s Naughty Indeed ($2.80, Jim Morand, 1:58.1), both victorious. Ben Stafford and Ben Stafford Jr.’s Top Land ($10.60, George Dennis, 1:58) was the remaining filly divisional winner. Top Land is trained by Ben Stafford.
Julianne Watkins and J&E Stable’s Cool Runnings ($26.60, Eddie Davis Jr., 1:58.2) and Joann Looney-King’s Enee Weenie And Me ($31.60, Jim King Jr., 1:56.3) were upset winners in their colt divisions. Cool Runnings is conditioned by Janet Davis, while "Enee" is trained by his driver, King Jr.
