A little over six weeks after driver Dan Dube, 41, fractured two vertebrae in his lower back and a carpal bone in his right hand in a June 18th racing accident at the Meadowlands, he is more than ready to get back to work. Dube finished second in a New York Sire Stakes at Monticello Raceway Thursday afternoon and is scheduled to drive in 11 races on Friday, July 30, and Saturday, July 31 at the Meadowlands. In addition to drives in overnight races, Dube also has mounts in the Hambletonian (Senor Glide) and Oaks (Cantab It All) eliminations on Saturday, as well as Yursa Hanover in the Miss Versatility Trot, and Big Sky Storm and Consus Blue Chip in the Peter Haughton elims all on Friday night. “I got the OK from the doctor and I feel good. I'm not sore,” Dube told harnessracing.com on Thursday afternoon. “It’s been over a month, so it’s not too soon. I’ve been jogging and training a lot. I’m excited to be driving again. I’m just going to get in the bike and go.”
