Earl Laviana dies

Earl Laviana, who campaigned the great gray pacer Laag along with world champion Trim The Tree, died March 8 in Pompano Beach, Fla., after a short illness. He was 91.



Laviana raced his horses in partnership with his wife, Geraldine, under the banner of Hubbardton Farms.



A memorial Mass was scheduled to be held Friday, March 11, at St. Gabriels Catholic Church in Pompano Beach. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
