Elitlopp officials have extended an invitation to the connections of Buck I St. Pat to bring the 5-year-old trotting mare to Solvalla Racetrack in Sweden to compete in the Elitlopp May 25, according to harnessracing.com's Sweden-based correspondent Lars G. Palm.
Buck I St. Pat was won four of six starts this year, including most recently a 1:53 victory in the opening round of the Classic Oaks April 7 at Dover Downs, an effort that set a new track record and just missed by one-fifth of equaling the world record. Last year she swept all three legs--which included her career-best 1:52.4 win in the second round at the Meadowlands--and the final of the Classic Series Overall, Buck I St. Pat has 25 wins in 48 starts, with earnings of $697,113.
Owners Howard Taylor, Ed Gold, Abe Basen and Ron Fuller, and trainer Mickey Burke have yet to accept or decline the invitation for the daughter of Jailhouse Jesse to travel overseas.
