Elusive Desire posted another dominant effort in winning Saturday's $120,000(C) Ontario Sires Stakes Gold final for 2-year-old fillies at Woodbine Racetrack with a 1:57.4 victory
over a track that was rated as "good." The daughter of Angus Hall-Valley Amber, with Paul MacDonell at the controls, seized control of the race almost immediately from post seven and then led at every call for the 4 3/4-length victory. Cumin First finished a solid second while Friendly Amigo rallied to pick up third. It was the second straight win for Elusive Desire who also captured her elimination a week earlier in 1:58.4. These are the only two wins of the season for the filly who appears to be peaking for the $300,000 OSS Super Finals which are coming up on Saturday, Nov. 15, at Woodbine. She entered the night sitting eighth in the OSS point standings. Cumin First has been on top all season in the division and will be the top point earner entering the Super Finals. The Michael Keeling trainee improved her seasonal bankroll to more than $245,000(C) for owners P C Wellwood Enterprises Inc., Charles Armstrong and Robert Fasken with the win. (WEG)
