Engel elected IHHA pres.

The Illinois Harness Horsemen's Association's board of directors has elected director Marty Engel of Buffalo Grove, Ill. as its president. Engel has been a board member since 2003, and this will be his first term as president.



He owns owns one of the top racing stables on the Chicago harness circuit, and operates an accounting and tax preparation business, located in downtown Chicago.



Other officers elected included David McCaffrey of Burr Ridge, Ill. as first vice president, Sam Lilly of Downers Grove, Ill. as second vice president, Ira Smolin of Beecher, Ill. as secretary, George Bonomo of Chicago as treasurer, and Ronnie Roberts of Compton, Ill. as assistant treasurer.



All officers will serve a one-year term.
