Using another powerful burst of speed in the stretch drive, Exploit Caf captured the Elitlopp Sunday afternoon at the Solvalla track in Stockholm, besting the pacesetting Oiseau de Feux with America's hope Enough Talk third in the 1:52.1 mile.
Swedish racing writer Lars G. Palm told harnessracing.com that Enough Talk turned in a "very good, very honest performance" for trainer-owner Peter Kleinhans, and driver Luc Ouellette gave the horse a "perfect textbook drive." As expected, Bjorn Goop took control of the race with second elim winner Oiseau de Feux, who started from post one in the final. Ouellette left strongly with Enough Talk and settled in the pocket, as they had done in their elim. At about the halfway mark the outer tier began to challenge, with Going Kronos leading the way and Jean Michel Bazire positioned third-over with Exploit Caf, who won the first elim.
Exploit Caf, a 7-year-old stallion by Toss Out, showed a big closing kick once again and trotted to an easy win. Oiseau de Feux held on for second with Enough Talk finding racing room late and getting up for third. Red Chili Pirat was fourth.
Fabrice Souloy enjoyed a double as he trains both Exploit Caf and runner-up Oiseau de Feux.
