Actions have spoken louder than words for Enough Talk, one of four New Jersey-sired trotters heading into the $600,000 Breeders Crown Open Trot on Saturday, Aug. 30 at Mohawk Raceway. The 5-year-old gelding, a New Jersey-sired son of Enjoy Lavec, won the Breeders Crown Elimination in 1:51.1, a lifetime best which equaled the Canadian record set by Mr Muscleman. “I just let (driver) Ron Pierce do whatever he thinks is right on the horse,” said Peter Kleinhans, who trains and co-owns Enough Talk with Jerry Silva. “I thought he would be as good as he was last start, which was a great effort. We put aluminum shoes on him before his last start, and I think that bumped him up a couple of extra lengths and just enough to move him up to the head of the class. I hope he stays there.” Enough Talk, who was third in a trio of major stakes this year–the Nat Ray, Classic Series Final and Green Day (Enjoy Lavec), Knight of Intrigue (Yankee Glide) and Armbro Chronicle (Self Possessed) also represent Falls For You, winner of the Armbro Flight and Conway Hall Stakes, leaves from the rail with Trond Smedshammer turning the lines over to Brian Sears. The 4-year-old by Yankee Glide shares Three pacers sired in Ideal Weather, a daughter of Western Ideal, will have to overcome post 10 in the $331,500 Breeders Crown Mare Pace, the eighth race. Artistic Fella (Pacific Fella), the 2007 Breeders Crown Open Pace winner, drew post eight and Palone Ranger (Western Ideal) starts from post 10. Both will also have to overcome bad starting positions in the $500,000 Breeders Crown Open Pace, the ninth race. (SBOANJ)
