Enough Talk, with Hall of Fame driver Catello Manzi in the sulky, led from start to finish in winning the $85,000 New Jersey Sire Stakes Championship final for 3-year-old trotting colts and geldings Friday in 1:57.1 at Freehold Raceway. The gelded son of Enjoy Lavec held off a strong challenge from the five-eighths-mile mark to win by a nose over Wildwood Days and driver Jeff Gregory. Limbo Glide finished third.

It was Enough Talk’s third consecutive Sire Stakes victory and ninth overall in 18 starts this year. He was unraced at two.

The winner’s share of the purse boosted the trotter’s earnings to $114,606 for the Crossing Paths Farm of Fort Edward, N.Y. Matthew Butcher Jr. is the winning trainer. (Freehold)
