Coming off wins at The Meadows and Pocono Downs, Fancy Filly ($3.40) responded nicely to pressure from Bordeaux Nourrir en route to a 1:53.1 victory, the fastest of seven Pennsylvania Sire Stakes splits for 2-year-old pacing fillies, held at Harrah's Chester Casino and Racetrack on Wednesday evening. The daughter of Western Hanover-Fanciful Hanover controlled the pace throughout, rating a first half of :58 before picking up the pace on the backstretch and responding immediately to a late challenge by Bordeaux Nourrir (Yannick Gingras). Fancy Filly posted a :55.1 back half and won by three lengths under minimal urging. Dave Palone, who recorded a stakes double on the evening, handled the driving duties for co-owner-trainer George Teague Jr. Ted Gewertz and Only Money Inc. also own Fancy Filly. Two other daughters of Western Hanover--Sammy's Magic Girl (Western Hanover-LT's Magic, Brett Miller, 1:55.1) and Western Moonlight (Western Hanover-Light Up, Corey Callahan, 1:55.2)--were victorious in their splits, while Four Starzzz Shark fillies Dancinwiththestarz (out of So Western, Yannick Gingras, 1:53.4) and It's De Lovely (out of Reflect Upon Life, Jeff Gregory, 1:54.1) also made trips to the winner's circle.
Native Doll (Allamerican Native-Debras Charm, Dave Palone, 1:55.1) and Harley Girl (The Panderosa-Grabbersome, Yannick Gingras, 1:55.2) rounded out the division winners. (The Meadows)
