Favorites deliver in Bridger series

Both favorites delivered in the second leg of the Bridger Trotting Series at Mohawk Racetrack on Thursday night.

Master Builder delivered in the first division for driver Jody Jamieson. Leaving from post eight, the son of Glidemaster was positioned fifth past the opening quarter of :29.1 set by Galileo Dream and driver Luc Ouellette.

As the field headed towards the half mile, Ouellette was attacked by Gotabgoodtoblucky and driver Paul MacDonell. Gotabgoodtoblucky then took his rivals past the half in 1:00.4. Jamieson used first over tactics as the field went past the three-quarter pole in 1:31.3.

Gotabgoodtoblucky and Master Builder separated themselves from their rivals as the field turned for home. Master Builder used a :27.2 final quarter to win by half a length over Gotabgoodtoblucky with Slip Into Glide finishing third.

Master Builder earned his first lifetime victory and increased his career earnings to $11,000 for trainer and co owner-owner Jeff Gillis, Burgess Stable and 1140545 Ontario Ltd.

He paid $3.60 for the win.

Max Money and driver Trevor Ritchie scored in the second division from post three.

Just In and driver Mike Saftic used post eight to clear to the lead before the opening quarter ahead of Unabating and Paul MacDonell as the first panel flashed up in :29.

As the field marched towards the second quarter Unabating and MacDonell weren't content with the two hole and took over command. Ritchie and Max Money then challenged Unabating and cleared to the lead just before the half in :59.3.

The son of Amigo Hall led his rivals past the three-quarters in 1:30. As the field headed for home, Unabating attacked Max Money but could not surpass as Max Money used a :28.2 final quarter to win by half a length in 1:58.2.

Unabating stayed for second with Just In completing the triactor.

Max Money earned his first career victory and has career earnings of $10,000 for trainer Blair Burgess who is owned by his wife Karin and father Bob.

He paid $3.60 for the victory.

Both horses have earned their spot in the $50,000 final next Thursday at Mohawk Racetrack. (WEG)
