Dalhousie Dave held off a late challenge from Classic Rock Nroll to capture the first division in the second leg of the Summertime Pacing Series on Friday (July 2) at Mohawk.

60-1 longshot Lord Of Art and driver Luc Ouellette controlled the pace with fractions of :27.3 and :56.3 before surrendering the lead to Dalhousie Dave at the three-quarter pole in 1:25. Dalhousie Dave and driver Jody Jamieson used first over tactics to capture a narrow victory over Classic Rock Nroll and Here We Go Again.

The son of Astreos is trained by Tony O'Sullivan for John and Jim Fielding. Dalhousie Dave paid $3.50 for the win.

Heavily favored Outrageous Art and driver Randy Waples scored a lifetime best in the second division of the Summertime Pacing Series.

Leaving from post five, Waples and Outrageous Art were positioned sixth through fractions of :26.2, :55.4 and 1:23.2. Waples then guided his charge first-over around the final turn and won by over a length in 1:51.1.

The son of Artsplace is trained by Mark Steacy for Stan Klemencic, David Reid, Malik Racing Stable and Diane Bertrand.

After being victorious in both of his Summertime Pacing Series legs, Outrageous Art will be a top candidate for the C$60,000 final next Friday, July 9, at Mohawk Racetrack. (WEG)
