Favorites Arts A Flutter and Platinum Hanover, two fillies who did not race as freshmen, captured their respective division of the New Jersey Sire Stakes 3-year-old filly pace Friday night at the Meadowlands with miles in 1:51.1 and 1:51.4. Arts A Flutter, with John Campbell up, raced in the outer flow from the half, gained the lead at the top of the stretch and drew off to a 3 3/4-length victory over Spring Break, with Speed Date third. A homebred daughter of Artiscape owned by the Robert McIntosh Stables, Leo Beaudoin and David Kryway, and trained by McIntosh, she Arts A Flutter posted her sixth win in seven career starts after finishing second in last week’s leg of the Sire Stakes. The mile is her career best. In the second division, Andy Miller sat third along the pylons with Platinum Hanover before moving her into the lead in deep stretch and a 1 3/4-length victory over Lady Mattgalane, with Current Hanover third. This was the second Sire Stakes win for the Western Ideal lass and seventh of the year in 13 starts. She’s trainer by Chris Ryder for owner Brittany Farms.
