Land O'Lakes Purina Feed LLC has announced a voluntary product recall of certain feeds manufactured between Nov. 3, 2007, and March 10, 2008, and distributed throughout Connecticut, Delaware, Georgia, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennesse, Vermont, Virginia and West Virginia.
The Purina website said "This voluntary retrieval was initiated due to the possible presence of aflatoxin contamination above acceptable levels." Aflatoxins are a potent form of mycotoxins, which are secondary metabolites of molds.
