May 20, 2006 Send To A Friend  | Print View

In a $25,000 prep race for the $500,000 Anthony Abbatiello New Jersey Classic, Feelin Friskie [$13.20, $4.80, $3.80] took the lead before the half and held on for a 1 3/4-length victory over Palone Ranger in 1:51.1. Also in the field was Western Ace, who was making his first start of the season.

Feelin Friskie, driven by John Campbell and trained by Scott Bell, is owned by Wayne Whebby of Nova Scotia. He had finished second at the Meadowlands in his only previous start this season.

Armbro Deuce, a Western Ideal colt trained by Blair Burgess, finished third while Western Ace, also by Western Ideal, finished fourth in his season debut for trainer George Teague Jr. Last year Western Ace won 11 of 14 starts and earned $709,743.
