Feeling You, driven by Jim Morrill Jr., was impressive Wednesday (May 5) in winning the $41,000 Wilkes-Barre Pace for three-year-old fillies.

The three-year-old Cambest filly was sent off as the 1-9 favorite in the race and didn’t disappoint. Morrill Jr. was first up before the three-eighths pole in the race after David Miller and Holiday Shopper led the opening split timed in 27 seconds.

Feeling You quickly became the new leader, getting to the half in 55.4 and three-quarters in 1:23.3 before winning in 1:51.2, a new life mark. She won the race by almost two lengths over second-place finisher Naughtytiltheend (Joe Pavia Jr.) with No Bad Luck (Montrell Teague) two and one-half lengths back.

“I’m feeling better than she (Feeling You) is,” said a happy George Berkner, the trainer of the winning horse. “However, I must give credit to Sam DiPinto and his wife. She (Feeling You) was really a handful when they started to work with her. Last year, we turned her out and she didn’t race.”

Feeling You swept the Wilkes-Barre Pace, winning the two previous legs in 1:52.3 and 1:54.4. The three-year-old filly has won six of seven starts this season with one third place finish and has a winning streak of four straight following the Tuesday night win.(Pocono)
