Hypnotize has found her winning stride again and goes for her third straight win Friday in the $10,000 Mares Open Handicap Pace at Pompano Park. The 4-year-old mare by Artiscape, trained by Jim Mattison and driven by Joe Pavia Jr., has shown great diversity in her last two starts, winning from both on and off the pace for the Diffenback, Mack Jr., and Mattison Stables.

Last week Hypnotize used perfect cover, racing along the rail in third place, then tipping out in the Mares Open to win by thee-quarters of a length in 1:54.3 for her seventh triumph of the season. The time was just two-fifths of a second from her lifetime mark.

Then two starts back, Pavia sent Hypnotize right to the front and never looked back, winning with ease by 3 1/2 lengths in 1:54.4. On Friday Hypnotize starts from post six.

The 9-5 morning-line favorite is Townline Lily from post two for the Bruce Ranger Stable. Last week Ranger sent the 5-year-old mare straight to the front but she was unable to hold off the late charge by Hypnotize and finished second. It was her third straight second-place finish in the Mares Open Pace.

Another contender in the field include Hyde Park Hussie N from post five for driver Anthony Napolitano. She is a return winner having faced lesser competition last week and wiring the field in 1:55.3. Also entered are Chip And Gale A (post one), Wilma Hall (post three) and Race Me Valerie (post four). All of the starters in the feature race have won in this class over the past two months. (Pompano Park)
