Sweden's famed Olympic Trot will be held Sunday, April 17, at the Aby track in Gothenburg. The race will carry a purse of approximately $200,000. Betting from the race helps fund the training of Sweden's Olympic athletic teams.
Simb Chaplin got into the race after Global Investment was withdrawn. Global Investment, a 7-year-old gelding by Pine Chip-Armbro Naive, came from behind to win a sharp duel against the leading Dust All Over (Super Arnie) last weekend and earn an invitation to the Olympic Trot. But when Global Investment was withdrawn, Simb Chaplin (Pearsall Hanover), who is trained in Italy by Jori Turja but still owned in Sweden, filled the spot.
The draw for the race was made over the TV4 public channel in Sweden. The field is as follows:
1--Nu Pagadi
2--Cooper Beech
3--Debbie Brodda
4--Go On Pale
5--Beanie MM
6--Private Love
7--Torvald Palema
8--Triton Sund
9--Nelumbo
10--Simb Chaplin
