Caviar Forthe Lady, a 2-year-old Sj's Caviar-Croupier Lady filly trotter, won her fifth straight race Friday afternoon (August 15) at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs, capturing one of six divisions of the Pennsylvania Sire Stakes for 2-year-old trotting fillies.

Reined by Charlie Norris, Caviar Forthe Lady left from the one post and sat third for the first half of the mile with SJ’s Minolta (David Wade) leading the way to the quarter and half with the times reading :28.4 and :58.

Norris went first over down the backside and went right on by SJ’s Minolta to grab the lead but had to hold off a hard-charging Highland Ridge (Dave Palone) at the wire. Caviar Forthe Lady won by a neck with the final time of 1:57.2, fastest of the six divisions that carried purses of $38,000-plus.

Marty Wollam trains Caviar Forthe Lady, a winner of five of six lifetime starts with one second-place finish in 2008.

Celebrity Juliet (Cantab Hall-Naked Lyric), trained by Staffan Lind and driven by Tim Tetrick, also produced a winning 1:57.2 time in another sire stakes division, winning by a head over Timelesswinner Two (Kevin Sizer).

Driver David Miller had two winning sire stakes horses Friday afternoon at the Northeastern Pennsylvania racetrack. He piloted All Star Hanover (Cantab Hall-Astraea Hanover) to a win in the opening division, stopping the timer in 1:58.1. This was a wire-to-wire victory for All Star Hanover, trained by Joe Holloway.

Miller’s other sire stakes win came with Misty Mollymorning (Sj's Caviar-Miss Molly Tamale), trained by Trond Smedshammer. Leaving from the two post, Misty Mollymorning sat second and third throughout the mile before winning in 2:00.2 with Hall Of Wishes (Tom Jackson) second and Naughty Broadway (Palone) third. This was the first lifetime start for the winner of the third division.

Trainer Jimmy Takter collected two sire stakes wins with Ellen Harvey (Andover Hall-Shes The Limit), driven by John Campbell, and Canoli (Cantab Hall-Eclair Hanover), reined by Palone.

Ellen Harvey stopped the timer in 1:58.2 and was a winner for the second time in four starts with two seconds in 2008.

Canoli, a 1-9 shot, went coast to coast in the final division, winning by 5-1/4 lengths with a time of 1:59.1. This was her first win in three starts this year.(Pocono)
