In a bizarre twist, just prior to the second leg of the Miss Vera Bars Series at Woodbine Thursday night, race favorite Changing Gears, who won a split of the first leg, spooked and veered into a snowbank along the outside of the track. The filly was stuck briefly before track officials and driver Paul MacDonell were able to get her free and back on the track. After being examined by the track veterinarian, she was declared fit to race.
Changing Gears finished second in the race won by Blue Mist. (WEG)
