World champion trotter Varenne sired his first North American winner Thursday night at The Meadows as Southwind Nova scored a 2:07.2 victory in a $300 baby race. The 2-year-old filly Southwind Nova is out of the Lindy Lane mare New York To Paris, who competed in Pennsylvania Sire Stakes contests at two and then raced her 3 –and 4-year-old seasons in California.
