Your last chance to replace two horses in your Little Brown Jug Fantasy Stable begins Tuesday, Sept. 8, and continues through Friday, Sept. 11, when the second draft period is open for the Fantasy Stable contest. You may also replace one trainer and one driver. The second and final draft period follows Monday afternoon’s Cane Pace at Freehold Raceway in New Jersey.

Two of the Cane’s 13 starters, Arctic Warrior and Hail Storm, are not eligible to the Little Brown Jug, but if either wins the Cane he can be supplemented into the Jug and thus eligible to be drafted.Arctic Warrior finished second and Hail Storm was third to Cane Elimination winner If I Can Dream.

The Jug Barn Fantasy contest is a joint venture between the Delaware, OH County Fair, home of the Little Brown Jug on September 24th, and www.harnessracing.com, the daily news site of The Horseman and Fair World magazine.

After the Cane, the Simcoe Stakes on Sept. 12 at Mohawk Racetrack is the only race remaining on the Fantasy schedule prior to the Little Brown Jug.

There are co-leaders in the Jug Fantasy Contest going into Monday’s Cane Pace. Tied with 2,103 points are Chris Revington (shotgun wedding) of London,ON and Ruth Ellerman (Ruth52) of St. Louis, MO. Next is Julia Martin (eatmydust) of Corryton, TN with 2,081 points; Mark Trzaska (teacher) of Amherst, NY with 2,070; Nick Salvi (Nick) with 2,061; and Mary Portman (MVP) of Westfield, NY with 2,041.
