Wednesday night's Floating Dream series at Scioto Downs enabled three pacing fillies to make their first trips to the winner’s circle.

Shez Lethal wasn’t lethal or lucky last year in her first season of racing as she failed to win in 13 starts. This year, however, she got her season off to a good start by winning her first start last night at Scioto Downs in a division of the Floating Dream series. The time was 1:59.1.

Owned by Jerry Zosel of Columbus and Kathy Ratcliff of Orient, Shez Lethal finished strongly to win by a neck over Classy Sarah. Jack Dailey drove the winner.

The other two divisions of the Floating Dream series were taken by daughters of Yankee Cruiser.

Cruiser Girl scored in 1:56.4 for owner Brian J. Kelley of Washington Court House and driver Jeremy Smith. It was her first win in 10 career starts. She finished a head in front of favored Stirling Beauty.

Yankee Oak won from post seven in 1:56.3 for Towering Oaks Farm of Mentor, Ohio. Wyatt Irvine steered the filly who was winless in 14 career starts coming into the race. Yankee Oak led all the way and held off favored Cruisematic by a neck.

Presto Pegasus and Rose Run Jesse each won divisions of the B.F. Coaltown series for trotters at Scioto on Wednesday. Presto Pegasus prevailed by a neck in a tight photo finish while Rose Run Jesse led all the way and held on to win by three-quarters of a length.

Built By Lindy, a 3-year-old Dream Vacation half-brother to the stallion Lindy Lane, overcame post 10 to break his maiden by winning in 2:01 for trainer-driver Kenny Kidd and Buckeye Racing LLC of Newark, Ohio. (Scioto Downs)
