First Aquarius leg

Live Out Loud enjoyed a pylon-skimming trip and took advantage of an opening in the stretch to win the $35,000 opening leg of the Aquarius Series for 4-year-old open pacers Saturday night at the Meadowlands. The time of the mile was 1:51.3.

Driven and trained by Patrick Lachance, Live Out Loud held off the quick-charging JK's Royal Flush by a head. Brandon's Cowboy, who fought hard to get the lead at the half, held on for third.

"He got a perfect trip," Lachance said. "I just got him from Chicago, and I'm not sure if they're going to keep him here or bring him back after the Aquarius."

Live Out Loud hit the board in 18 of 26 starts and earned just over $150,000 while racing in Illinois during his sophomore season last year. He now has a career slate of 15 wins in 42 starts and earnings of $261,939. The son of Art's Conquest is owned by M&M Harness Racing and Illinois-based trainer David McCaffrey.
