Five years in jail for Case

Walter Case Jr. has been sentenced to five years in jail after pleading guilty to felonious assault for stabbing his wife, Nadine, in the back with a steak knife last June.



At his sentencing hearing Monday, Case told the judge that "I really screwed my life up. I let alcohol take over my life. I wish I could take it back."



Case also made some apologies moments before he learned his fate. "I owe Nadine an apology. I have two teenage boys and should have been a role model for them. I should have been a role model for harness racing. I feel I let everybody down."



According to Case's lawyer, Case could be eligible for parole after six months.
