The state of Florida has reached an agreement with the Seminole tribe that allows the Seminoles to have blackjack at five facilities in the state, in exchange for paying the state at least $1 billion over the next five years.
What does this mean for the South Florida pari-mutuel operators? The pact with the Seminoles, which still must be approved by the Florida House and Senate, includes expanded betting limits and hours for poker rooms at the pari-mutuel racetracks, plus a tax break on slots revenues.
