Dee Day Fame was able to catch pacesetter Talk About Me in the final strides to the wire in capturing the $30,000 Florida Stallion Stakes for 2-year-old trotting colts Friday night at Pompano Park. They won by three-quarters of a length in a lifetime-best of 2:00.4. Youngbro Patriot (Bruce Ranger) was third.

It was the fourth straight win and sixth victory of the year for Dee Day Fame, who was driven to victory by Wally Hennessey for owners Anthony Amante and Christine Garrity. George Harp Jr trains Dee Day Fame.

Hennessey also won the $20,000 division for 2-year-old trotting fillies with Docs Krista who wired the field and romped by 15 1/4 lengths in a career-best 2:03.4 over Juantawnamarea (David Ingraham) with Storm Delight (Tom Sells) third.

Docs Krista is trained by Robert Williams Jr. and owned by Andy Roberts.

What A Pearl posted her seventh win in just eight lifetime starts for driver Jay Sears with a 10 1/4-length victory over Yall Missed It (Allen Saul) and Pixie Sticks (Steve Trities) in the non-wagering $20,000 Florida Stallion Stakes for trotting fillies in 2:04.

Richard Gaucher owns What A Pearl, who is trained by Kim Sears.

Now both Dee Day Fame and What A Pearl need only to win the final of the Florida Breeders Stakes on Dec. 11 to share in the $100,000 bonus from the Florida Standardbred Breeders and Owners Association and Pompano Park.
