He was unraced at two and on Monday afternoon at Monticello Raceway Four Starz Speed, a 3-year-old trotting colt owned by the Fourt Starzzzz Stables, notched his  fourth consecutive victory and remained undefeated when he turned back an aged field  in a 2:01.4 clocking.

“He’s green but he seems to have a big motor and he really loves what he’s doing,” said driver Jimmy Marohn who has handled the colt in all four of his pari-mutuel starts at Monticello Raceway. “I really haven’t had to ask him for much but when I did he responded.”

The young trotter has won each and every one of his races this year from behind and the 2:01.4 triumph on Monday was no exception.

Marohn eased Four Starz Speed away from the starting gate easily and when the number one horse, Late For Lunch (Greg Decker Jr.,) made a break in the first turn many of the outside starters lost ground on the leaders.

At the quarter pole Four Starz Speed was in third place but some nine lengths behind the leader Montabello Jake ( Kyle DiBenedetto). The margin was closed to four lengths at the half and three at the three-quarters. From there Four Starz Speed trotted to the front and held off all comers in the lane for a solid one-length triumph over Northmedo Rombauer, handled by Jordan Stratton. Montabello Jake faded and finished third, two lengths behind the winner.

Sent off as the 2-5 odds-on favorite Four Starz Speed paid $2.80 for win.

Also on the afternoon card, Mike Forte put on a driving clinic winning four races. Forte’s first victory came behind  Rosemarie Moore’s Rising Debt in 1:57.3 and he waited until the ninth to rein Frank Petrelli’s Sassy Brenda to a 2:00.1 triumph. Forte then won the final two races on the card; he scored in the 11th with Jennifer Rotundo’s Storm In Jordan in 2:00.1 and then won the finale with Owen Eiler’s Seneca Falls in 2:02.3.
