Four Starz Sue made his first win since May a big one, capturing the featured Open Handicap pace on Friday night at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs. The race carried a purse of $28,750.
Four Starz Sue, with Howard Parker in the bike for trainer Carmine Fusco, left from post position #5 in a 7-horse field as a 9-2 shot, and he stayed back early before making a decisive 3-wide move on the back stretch to take the lead away from Sailing Cruise. He continued strong to the line for the win by 1 ¾ lengths in 1:51:1. Sailing Cruise stayed on for 2nd while Up Front George finished 3rd.
The 6-year-old gelding, owned by Four Starzzzz Stable LLC of Hauppauge, NY, won for the 4th time in 16 tries this year and the 23rd time in his career. With the winner’s share of the purse, Four Starz Sue has now earned over $407,000 in his career. (Pocono Downs)
