Four new track records were set or equaled Wednesday at Harrington Raceway with the most impressive mark set by John Celii and Brenda and George Teague's Badlands Nitro (Wayne Long), who reeled off a scorching 1:53.4 win in a $20,000 division of the Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund Stakes (DSBF) for 2-year-old colt pacers. Not only did it establish a track record, but it was the fastest time of any freshman colt on a half-mile track this year.

The Badlands Hanover colt set the fractions and held off Badlands Jaden and Always a Choice for his fourth win in five starts.

Delbert Cain's Go Sassy Go, a 5-year-old CR Commando trotting mare, set a new mark for aged mares with a 1:56.3 victory in the $23,500 Junior Open Trot. Shortly thereafter, Lloyd Arnold's Valley Sport equaled the mark for 4-year-old trotting geldings with a 1:56.3 victory. Arnold's Ms Virginia then broke the mark for 3-year-old trotting fillies with a 1:58.1 triumph.

In the four remaining 2-year-old stake divisions, West Coast Bad Boy (Long, 1:56.4), Fleetmaster (Tim Tetrick, 1:56), Martiniwitholives (Tony Morgan, 1:56.4) and Dina's Gamble (Brandon Givens, 1:57.3) all were victorious. (Harrington)
