Fox Valley Flan sets mark

Fox Valley Flan became the fastest mare trotter in the history of Hawthorne Racecourse Friday night, capturing the first of two Erwin F. Dygert eliminations in 1:53.3. The mile easily bested the previous mark of 1:56.4.



The 4-year-old mare was driven by Andy Miller for trainer Erv Miller and owner Tanah Merah Farms. Dink Adoo finished second with Full Count third.



Mr. McNally also trotted the mile in 1:53.3 to win the second Dygert elim. The 4-year-old horse was driven by trainer Dan Shetler, who co-owns with Jo Anne Shetler and Mitchell Rosenthal. Setting a track record for his division, Mr. McNally edged Armbro Approach by a head with Sweet Deal Hanover third.
