March 05, 2007 Send To A Friend  | Print View

Francis X. “Frank” Ready, who served as the executive vice president of the U.S. Trotting Association from 1982 until 1993, died on March 2 following a brief illness. Since the time of his retirement he had been living in Great Falls, Va.

Details regarding funeral arrangements were not immediately available.

Ready joined the USTA as its executive vice president in August 1982 and served for 10-1/2 years. During his tenure the USTA greatly expanded its data processing abilities, which led to the automation of many of the tasks of the registry, the development of the Race Track System, and of the Standardbred Remote Information System--which were the foundation of information technology systems and improvements introduced in the past few years.

Prior to joining the USTA, Mr. Ready had served as a U.S. State Department officer for 26 years, and at the time he left that agency he served as its deputy inspector general. (U.S. Trotting Association)
