Nearly $600,000 in Standardbred Breeders & Owners Association of New Jersey-sponsored stakes are among the featured events on the $3.9 million Freehold Raceway stakes schedule for 2010.
The $85,000 Helen Smith Trot for 3-year-old filly trotters on Aug. 20, the $100,000 Charles Smith Trot for 3-year-old colts on Sept. 10, the $70,000 Harold Dancer Filly Trot on Sept. 15 and the $80,000 Harold Dancer Colt Trot on Sept. 16 are among the stakes under the aegis of the SBOANJ along with a quartet of New Jersey Futurities on October 1, 2 and 7.
Freehold’s schedule also includes the $300,000 Cane Pace, a leg of the Triple Crown for 3-year-old pacers, and its filly companion event, the $100,000 Shady Daisy, both on Labor Day, Sept. 6.
Three-year-old trotters are featured in the $160,000 Dexter Cup on May 8 and the $100,000 Lady Suffolk on May 7.
New Jersey Sire Stakes--both Premier and Green Acres--and the NJSS-sponsored Babic Finals on Sept. 4 fill out the balance of the stakes program. (SBOANJ)
