Freehold issued a statement to its horsemen last week revealing a 20 percent cut in purses as well as dropping its richest overnight events–invitational paces, open mares and open trots.
There will be a special Standardbred Breeders & Owners Association of New Jersey meeting on Saturday, Feb. 2, at 6 p.m. in the back paddock at the Meadowlands.
