February 28, 2009 Send To A Friend  | Print View

A crowd of over 200 players participated in the first free Texas Hold'em tournament hosted by NJ Free Poker on Friday night at the Meadowlands.

Each Friday through April, NJ Free Poker (NJFP) will offer free tournaments in the Clubhouse Sports Bar. Professional dealers offer poker lessons at 6:30 p.m.; the tournament begins at 7 p.m.  All participants receive free admission passes and a live racing program.

To register to play, go to
http://www.njfreepoker.com/. While walk-ups are accepted, it is strongly recommended that players pre-register online as players are seated on a first come, first serve basis.

NJFP is a free poker league offering nightly Texas Hold’em tournaments at local bars, restaurants and other locations. In each nightly tournament, the 10 players who reach the final table earn points based on their finishing positions. Each nightly winner, the 200 top scorers and the 5 players with the best attendance, qualify for the NJFP finals. NJFP will sponsor the winner of the final tournament to play in a World Series of Poker or World Poker Tour event. Players must be at least 21 years old to participate.

Players who sign up and wager with a Big M card are eligible to participate in bonus tournaments and compete for a free $800 entry in the National Harness Handicapping Championship on April 25. (Meadowlands)
