Detroit Free Press handicapper Bill "Raylebird" Rayle has reported "the power of the people" is apparent as the Michigan newspaper has restored carrying race results from the metro-Detroit area racetracks only days after announcing it was eliminating them.

"They had so many calls from people that they decided to start running them again," Rayle told harnessracing.com. "They will run the results from Northville Downs now and later from Hazel Park, however Windsor is not included in this decision."

The Free Press posted the following on its website Tuesday morning: Thanks to significant (and persistent) reader response regarding the elimination of local horse racing results, the Free Press will resume carrying Northville Downs results. The results will contain the top three finishes, scratches and gimmicks. We also will continue to run Hazel Park Raceway selections and results. Thanks, readers, for your feedback and support.

It's a good thing the Free Press hadn't stopped running entries and selections as Rayle, who is celebrating his 20th year as the newspaper's harness handicapper, had his best night ever at Northville last Saturday as he picked the winner in 10 of the 12 races. Rayle's best night ever came when he had an 11-win card at Hazel Park in 1997.
