A quartet of Indiana Sires Stakes contests for freshman pacers were offered Tuesday, September 23 at Indiana Downs. Suprizemeagain and King Me captured the $15,000 divisions for colts while JNB N Me and Sapphire Martini won the filly splits. Heavy favorite Suprizemeagain did not disappoint in the first ISS contest winning by two and one-quarter lengths in 1:53.2. Trace Tetrick was at the controls for trainer Shawn Nessa, racing the Western Hero colt off the pace early before making the lead at the top of the stretch. Electric Tom Boy crossed the wire in second and Star City Hero was third. Big Hat Stable’s King Me sprinted home the fastest of them all to win the $15,000 second division for colts and geldings in 1:54.2. The Dontgetinmyway colt, trained by Steve Livingston and driven by Ricky Macomber, closed in :28 to win by nearly two lengths. Favorite Joezehrlovesjohnny and Tetrick were second and Indy’s Z Tam, driven by Mark O’Mara, was third. JNB N Me and driver Ed Hensley grabbed the lead after the half and never looked back in the $15,000 first division for fillies, winning by a length in 1:55.4. The Dream Work filly, trained by Dan Perdue, went off as the favorite, outpacing Lilasue (Roger Cullpher) and Lifeinmargaritavil (Angus Lake).
