Last to first; that's how Sleep Easy won a $26,000 overnight--race 4--at the Meadowlands Saturday night.

With Eric Ledford driving the horse trained by his father, Seldon, Sleep Easy was 10th, three wide, at the three-quarter mark. Coming off the turn he was still racing 10th, and certainly didn't appear to be a winner. But halfway through the stretch his rally seemed serious.

In the final yards of the race announcer Ken Warkentin called, "and it is Sleep easy, coming from last to first to win."

With a :26.4 last quarter, Sleep Easy hit the wire in 1:51.4, taking a new lifetime mark and picking up his second win in five starts this season. He paid $6.20 to win as the betting favorite.
