Gabby Glide, a 4-year-old gelding by Yankee Glide, lowered the world record for older gelding trotters on a five-eighths mile track with his 1:52.3 victory at Harrah’s With Tim Tetrick driving, Gabby Glide raced third to the quarter (:27.1), then took command and set remaining panels of :56.4 and 1:24.1 before trotting home in :28.2 to post the new world mark. The previous world mark of 1:52.4 was held by Likeabatoutahell and Euro Hanover, who both turned in their miles this past August over the five-eighths Harrah’s Gabby Glide, who wears trotting hobbles, is trained by Sam Beegle and owned by Beegle, Steven Cook and Carl Vizzi. Tom Crouch bred the horse. Gabby Glide now has eight wins in 14 starts this year. He has a lifetime mark of 1:52.1 taken earlier on July 27 at the Meadowlands.
