Sweeping four wide at the top of the stretch from sixth, Gale Warning ($8.40) was able to blow by the field in winning the $16,000 feature trot at the Isle Pompano Park Monday. Driven by Wally Hennessey, Gale Warning waited until the final turn to make his move and come on in the stretch to win by one length over pacesetters Karpathos (Denis St. Pierre) and Battleshoe Victor (Anthony Napolitano) in 1:57.1.
It was the seventh victory this year for Gale Warning, a 5-year-old gelding by Strong Gale, trained by Michile Lorenzo and co-owned by Rod Lorenzo, Ciro Gentile and the Pomtambo Stables of Boca Raton.
Robert Gianquitti and Martin Blank’s KM Sweet Dreams made it three straight in the $9,500 trot for driver Napolitano, winning in 1:56.2. It was the 11th victory this year for the 5-year-old Florida-bred mare by Famously who is trained by Joe Pavia Jr. (Pompano Park)
