For the second straight week, Gale Warning ($2.60) was able to breeze again in posting his second straight victory in the $12,000 feature trot at Pompano Park Wednesday.
Driver Tom Sells started the race by taking the early lead with Battleshoe Victor but that was short lived as Gale Warning and driver Wally Hennessey was moving on the outside and was in command by the opening quarter mile in :28.3.
From that point on Gale Warning was home free, cutting fractions of :58.3 to the half mile and 1:27.4 to the three-quarter mile mark before trotting home with a :27.4 last quarter mile to win by a half length in 1:55.3 over Battleshoe Victor and Table Wine (Dan Clements).
Trained by Michile Lorenzo and co-owned by Rod Lorenzo, Ciro Gentile and the Pomtambo Stable of Boca Raton, it was the fourth win this year for Gale Warning, a 5-year-old gelding by Strong Gale. (Pompano Park)
