Gaylewinds NY breezed to the front past the quarter and drew off late to capture her second straight in the Double Trouble, a series for 3- and 4-year-old filly and mare trotters, Wednesday at The Meadows. Lucky Charm took the other $15,000, second-leg split, giving Dave Palone a driving sweep of the divisions.

Gaylewinds NY settled in the pocket but made her decisive move as the field passed the casino for the first time. She scored by 2 lengths in 1:58.4, equaling the lifetime mark she established last week. Marcie closed for second while early leader Candy J saved show.

Kris Rickert trains Gaylewinds NY, a 4-year-old daughter of Broadway Hall-Ada Winds, for Dale Wareham.

Lucky Charm avenged last week’s defeat by RT Sun Poco by making up 2 lengths in the Lightning Lane and nosing out that rival in 1:57.2. Lookslike Marie finished third. Ron Burke conditions Lucky Charm, a 4-year-old daughter of Malabar Man-Pine Melody, forBurke Racing Stable and Weaver Bruscemi LLC.

In the $25,000 Preferred Handicap Trot, Heza Challenger blew by Vivid Photo in a 27.3 third quarter and went on to a comfortable victory in 1:55.1. Vivid Photo gamely held second, 2-3/4lengths back, with Tom’s OK Lady third. Brett Miller drove Heza Challenger, a 6-year-old Chip Chip Hooray-Ten Queens gelding, for trainer Bruce Riegle and owner Robert Kauffman. Heza Challenger now has won 45.8 percent of his 48 career starts.

Miller drove five winners and Palone four on the 13-race card. Miller, who notched his 5,000th career victory Tuesday, has won 11 times over the last two programs. (Meadows)
