Get Out of Dodge was impressive in his Meadowlands debut, edging out the competition to win the $40,100 New Jersey Sire Stakes for three-year-old colts & geldings on Saturday night at the Meadowlands. Driven by Yannick Gingras, Get Out of Dodge yielded the lead to Proper Respect on the backside and shook loose late in the stretch to upset the field and win by a length in a personal best of 1:49.4. Proper Respect finished second and it was two and a half lengths back to Dax Hanover in third. Get Out of Dodge paid $8.60. Get Out of Dodge notched his sixth win of the year in his ninth start and increased his lifetime earnings to $95,985 for owners Wayne Carleton and Dean Lockhart both of Collingwood, Ontario and Daniel Sarafian of Stouffville, Ontario. Mark Harder trains the three-year-old son of Artiscape. Earlier on the card, Haverford Hanover [$23.40, $8.20, $4.40] rocketed up the pylons to take the $32,000 open for 4-year-old pacers by a length over Art At Heart [$7.00, $4.60]. Haverford Hanover paced the mile in a career best 1:49 for driver Dan Dube and trainer Mark Kesmodel. Millionaire Always A Virgin was all out to finish third in his 2008 debut. (Meadowlands)
