Gigant Neo sets track mark

Return Home
April 04, 2005 Send To A Friend  | Print View

Gigant Neo, a son of Super Arnie-Clorita Lobell trained by Sweden's Stefan Melander, set a new track record of 1:55.4 when he won over Prime Prospect in the Grand Prix Costa Azzurra at the Torino track in Italy Monday. The race had been delayed from Sunday since all sporting events in Italy were cancelled due to the death of Pope John Paul II.

Because of the postponement of the race, Gigant Neo was not driven by his regular driver, Dominik Locqueneux. Locqueneux had other commitments in France on Monday so Jos. Verbeeck was up behind Gigant Neo.

Gigant Neo is scheduled to remain in Italy and breed approximately 50 mares while standing at stud at Roberto Toniatti's farm.
