Global Glamour takes Red Mile feature

Global Glamour avenged last week's late-closing loss to Debbie Hall with a 1:57.1 win in the $50,000 feature at The Red Mile Monday night, Aug. 20, a Kentucky Sire Stakes (KYSS) leg for 2-year-old filly trotters.

Driven by Dave Palone, who entered the charmed circle seven times this night, Global Glamour went to the lead out of the gate, but conceded to Debbie Hall and driver Mike Lachance before the half. Palone wasted no time reclaiming command with the striking roan Like A Prayer filly. The pair finished two lengths in front of Debbie Hall for trainer Pete Foley and co-owners James McLaughlin and Lynne Foley.

This was the second career win for Global Glamour, who also grabbed a Tompkins-Geers division at Tioga Downs in July. She has now made $57,657 in four starts.

MCA won his second consecutive KYSS leg with a sizzling 1:52.2 win, also with Palone's guidance. Mickey Burke trains the Real Desire colt for co-owners Sylvia Burke, Randy Ringer, Tom Cherichello and Larry Karr. MCA set a lifetime mark of 1:52.2 with the win, his fourth in seven starts.

In the other $25,000 KYSS division for 2-year-old pacing colts, Warning Zone and Kyle Ater won courageously in 1:52.4. Dan Ater trains the Jate Lobell colt for Mark Wooten and Melvyn Aylor.

In a $25,000 KYSS leg for 2-year-old colt trotters, an anticipated match-up between fellow KYSS winners Like A Dream and Prayerinmotion collapsed when Prayerinmotion made a break. It looked like an easy win for Like A Dream until a late rush by Twin B Preacher and Warren Harp produced the meet's priciest winner. Twin B Preacher, a colt by Like A Prayer, paid $229.60 to win for trainer Harp and co-owners Joy Lancaster and Joan Harp. He trotted to the win in 1:59.1 in just his second lifetime start.

Royally-bred pacing filly Desirable Cindy won her second lifetime start as well, scoring with Palone aboard in 1:54.1. Desirable Cindy is by Real Desire and is a half-sister to Jenna's Beach Boy. Joe Seekman trains the filly for owner-breeders L&L Devisser.

Palone also scored with Cannae Princess in her $20,000 KYSS leg in 1:55.2. Burke trains the Cambest filly for co-owners Sylvia Burke and breeder Cannae Farms.

Twenty Six Karma made a bobble at the start of her $20,000 KYSS division, but roared back to win in 1:55.4 with Brendan Johnson up. Noel Daley trains the Jate Lobell lass for Atwater Racing Stable.

All Night Dwight won his $25,000 KYSS division for freshman colt trotters in 1:59. Charlie Norris trains and drives the Like A Prayer youngster for co-owners David and John Prushnok and William Gregg.

The Red Mile will need two days rest to gear up for Thursday's marathon 20-heat session. First post is at 6:30 p.m. with 3 year old KYSS stars to race throughout the night. (Red Mile)
