Glowing Report in 1:49.4

Glowing Report claimed the lead in mid-backstretch and held on for a one-length victory over Burning Point in the $40,000 Mares Open Pace Friday night at the Meadowlands. Glowing Report paced a lifetime best of 1:49.4 for the mile. It was 1 1/2 lengths to Nanny Withafanny in third.

Glowing Report, driven by David Miller and trained by Jerry Silverman, picked up her second straight victory, having won the $100,000 Matriarch on May 14 at the Meadowlands. She has two wins and two seconds in four starts this year. The 5-year-old daughter of Artsplace, owned by Marvin Rounick of Narberth, Pa., has banked more than $1.5 million lifetime.

“She was very sharp and felt great,” said Miller. “I didn’t expect her to go that much, but she pretty much did it on her own. She’s very sharp right now. I just didn’t want to end up in the three hole. So I went ahead and moved her back (to the lead) even though it was a pretty hot pace. She felt very strong the whole way. She’s pretty much well in hand. Lets just hope she stays that way.” (The Meadowlands)

Next up for Glowing Report will be the $225,000 estimated Lady Liberty free for all pacing mares on June 16 with a prep on June 9.
