Go Get Em sets season's mark in Meadows series

Go Get Em did exactly that Tuesday at The Meadows, dominating his Lookout Hanover Pace division wire to wire in 1:53.3, fastest mile this year by a 3-year-old gelding on a 5/8-mile track. Wayne The Lefty captured the other $15,000 opening-leg division of the series for sophomore colt and gelding pacers.
 
Go Get Em prepped for the series with two sharp overnight miles at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs, leaving Dave Palone little need to ponder strategy. He had the opportunity to drop in behind Tyber Shark but pushed Go Get Em to the lead, where the son of Four Starzzz Shark-She’s The One drew off to win by 10-3/4 lengths. Tyber Shark saved place over a rallying Teen Turo.

Wayne The Lefty prevailed in front-end fashion as well, retaking the lead at the quarter pole for Brett Miller and scoring in 1:54.4, 2 lengths better than I Like It Hot. Picture Me was third. It was one of three wins on the14-race card for Miller.
 
Trent Stohler trains and Wayne The Lefty Stable owns the Allamerican Ingot-Camiana gelding, who won legs of the Junior Trendsetter and Hopeful series and has earned $49,125 in his last six starts.
 
In the $25,000 Winners Over $10,000/Preferred Handicap Pace, Valentowner unleashed a wicked late brush to win his third straight — all from at least 6 lengths off the lead. He scored in 1:51.3, lowering his lifetime mark a tick for driver Mile Wilder, trainer Jim Arledge, Jr. and owner/breeder Bob Key. Arledge swept the exacta as his trainee, Upfront Hannahsboy, was second, a neck back, with Sand Benelli third. (The Meadows)
