Golden Receiver chalked up a new track record at Tioga Downs on Sunday afternoon for 3-year old gelding pacers with a new lifetime mark of 1:51.4. Sean McAleese was in the sulky for breeder, owner, and trainer Nina Simmonds.

It was the fourth win in six lifetime starts for the son of Village Jove out of the Towner’s Big Guy mare Royal Gold. With the winner’s share of the $10,700 New York Sire Stakes late-closer, Golden Receiver increased his lifetime and seasonal earning to more than $13,000.

In the first division of the New York Sire Stakes late-closer, Boat King and Chuck Connor Jr. used the catch-me-if-you-can tactic to score in 1:55.2.

Corey Braden and New Release took down the third and final division in 1:53.4 destroying the previous lifetime mark of the 3-year-old Pro Bono Best son by three full seconds.

Winbak Dimensions took down the featured $15,000 Open Handicap Pace for the second straight week scoring in 1:52.1. The duo left from post position six and lead throughout every quarter with fractions of :27.3, :56.4, and 1:24 before sprinting away from the rest of the field with ease in a final panel of :28.1. Jim Perry trains the 5-year-old son of Village Jove for William Heinz and Jack Heinz of Ohio.

Corey Braden posted a driving grand slam on the afternoon’s 11-race card, while Jimmy Marohn Jr. posted a driving double. Tioga Downs would like to congratulate Tyler “Frosty” Freese who got his initial win in harness racing, in just his third career start with Exponential who he also owns and trains. (Tioga Downs)
