Undefeated Gold Star Rosie ($4.80) posted her fourth straight win with a nine length romp in the $23,625 Florida Stallion Stakes for two-year-old pacing fillies at the isle casino & racing at pompano park Friday.

Driven by Dan Clements, Gold Star Rosie took the lead from Howard’s Pride (Bruce Ranger) after the opening quarter mile and then held the field at bay, pulling away in the stretch and winning in a lifetime best clocking of 1:57.4. Howards Pride was second and Bling (Mel Turcotte), despite making an early break, recovered to finish third.

“I have not turned her loose yet.” Said driver Dan Clements of Goldstar Rosie. “There was a big wind tonight in the backstretch and I think she could have gone a second or two faster if I let her.”

Trained and bred by Tom Audley of Bell, Goldstar Rosie is a bay filly by Rock On from the Tough Sir mare, Eileen Filly. She is co-owned by Audley with Jamie Marra of Delray Beach and Bethany Anne Levine of Boynton Beach.

Driver Dan Clements continued his winning ways from Wednesday to Friday, winning four races on the card for the second straight night.

In the $23,125 first division of the Florida Stallion Stakes for two-year-old fillies, Callies Sweetheart and driver Melvyn Aylor were the pocket-rocket as Howards Twister (Wally Hennessey) cut the mile. In deep stretch Aylor challenged with Callies Sweetheart and won by three-quarters of a lengths in 1:58.2. Carah (Jay Sears) was third.

It was the first win in five starts for Callies Sweetheart, a daughter of Mannart Howard from the Miami Mogul mare, Calpurnis. Aylor, of Bell, also trains, owns and bred Callies Sweetheart.

Now both Goldstar Rosie and Callies Sweetheart are eligible for a $100,000 bonus if they win all three of the remaining Florida Sire Stakes finals.

Alice Springs, who last week saw her 12-race winning streak come to end, returned with a vengeance in the $27,100 Hurricane Series for three-year-old fillies, winning by two and three-quarter lengths over rival Allee T (Bruce Ranger) in 1:55.3. Cracker Sis (Tom Sells) was third.

It was the second win in three starts this year for Alice Springs and driver Wally Hennessey. Sired by N Aboriginal from the Hearty Welcome mare, Lisa, Alice Springs is trained by Tom Harmer and owned by the Ciara Stables of Willowbrook, IL, and Michael Polansky of Loudonville, NY.

Saturday is closing night for the summer meet at the isle pompano park. Featured on the card are two divisions of the Florida Stallion Stakes for two-year-old colt and gelding pacers and two divisions of the Hurricane Series for three-year-olds. (Pompano)
